Savannah and Jackson’s Flying Caballos Wedding!

This past Saturday, June 25th, 2022, we were so lucky to capture Savannah and Jackson’s stunning Flying Caballos wedding. The whole day was perfect from start to finish! When we arrived, Savannah was getting ready with her bridesmaids in the farmhouse, and Jackson was hanging at the hot tub with the guys! Ceremony on the lawn was beautiful, and Sonny and Goose (Savannah and Jackson’s dogs!) even walked down the aisle. After ceremony, everyone enjoyed cocktail hour and reception, and danced the night away down at the barn.

We truly couldn’t have imaged a more perfect day to celebrate Savannah and Jackson. It’s clear to everyone that knows the two of them that they’re the perfect match. They were so intentional about their wedding and it showed. We definitely teared up quite a few times throughout the day on the other side of the camera! We feel so grateful to have been a part of such a special time in their lives, and to have felt SO incredibly welcomed by not only Savannah and Jackson, but all of their friends and family, too.

Their Love Story

Savannah and Jackson met in college at UC Berkeley in 2013, and became friends immediately. It didn’t take long to move past being “just friends.” From that moment on, they were each other’s people. Whenever there was something going on, or not going their way, they always had each other’s backs.

Following college they spent 2 years on opposite ends of the country! Fortunately, they found their way through it. They then lived together in Amherst (and Northampton), Massachusetts for four years. There, they got used to the freezing winters, the humid summers, and living in the middle of nowhere, all while they completed their graduate degrees. This is also where they got their first dog, Sonny.

Back to California!

After Massachusetts, they moved back to where it all began, the East Bay in Northern California. When they moved, they literally packed up their car with all of their possessions and drove across the country. They noted that it was a weird feeling be able to fit their entire life into a car. Especially because they didn’t even have a place to live yet!

Eventually, they found a small place in El Cerrito. That’s where Jackson got his first job as a college professor, Savannah made the transition from the restaurant industry to working a 9-5, they rode out the pandemic, AND they got their second dog, Goose. Most importantly, that’s when they got engaged!

At some point, living with your significant other during a pandemic, you realize that you are meant to be together. Jackson popped the question at their alma mater, in one of the places they used to eat lunch when they were in college. They recently moved out of that place that is filled with so many of their memories. It’s also fitting though, because they’re moving into the next stage of their lives! We’re so excited for them!
