The Venue
While there are so many wedding venues on the Central Coast, only a few are actually on the coast. The San Luis Obispo wedding venue Point San Luis Lighthouse overlooks the Pacific Ocean in sunny Avila Beach. The lighthouse sits on 30 acres of land and the venue is the perfect backdrop for a relaxed, cliffside beach ceremony. The elegant, historical Lighthouse was built in 1890, and is now maintained by a team of volunteers and supported by proceeds from tours, weddings, events, and donations!
Point San Luis Lighthouse can accommodate up to 100 guests for a ceremony, so it’s perfect for intimate and mid-size weddings. For outdoor dining, the venue can accommodate 100 guests. Alternatively, 50 guests can be hosted for indoor dining. If an outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour isn’t your vibe, you have options! For instance, the smaller historic building on the property can be used for an indoor alternative for either of these.

The Point San Luis Lighthouse is conveniently located within close driving distance to some of the Central Coast’s most incredible tourist attractions.
For example, in just a 20 min drive north, you’re right in the middle of downtown SLO! In downtown San Luis Obispo, you’ll find coffee shops, wine bars, and dozens of restaurants. It’s a great place for some night life as well if you’re hoping for an evening out!
Hoping to do some wine tasting while you’re in the area? The Edna Valley Wine region boasts some incredible wineries and vineyards, and is only about 25 minutes inland.
If you prefer not to drive very far, there’s plenty to do in Avila Beach, too. In particular, the beach itself draws crowds year-round! It’s the perfect spot to relax, catch a tan, and take a stroll during sunset. Additionally, Avila Beach has its own great wine and beer tasting rooms (if you don’t feel like making the trek to Edna Valley!). Finally, if you need some quick exercise, the Bob Jones trail is the perfect fix. It’s a mellow, paved walking path that connects the Avila Beach pier to the Ontario Road parking lot. About 3 miles long, it winds along the San Luis Obispo Creek and Avila Valley Barn fields.
